Hello, fall!

Oh, glorious fall! My favorite time of the year. The windows are open and the cool, crisp breeze feels so nice. I love looking out and seeing gold patches spreading across the mountainside. We have already started to check things off our fall bucket list; fall hike, collecting leaves, hot apple cider, a trip to the pumpkin patch, corn maze, hayride, apple picking, baking, General Conference, my birthday...what's on your fall bucket list?!:) And we don't wait to make our home feel or smell like fall! Lots of reorganizing and decorating for fall around here while we listen to audio books. Also, I wanted to share my homemade simmering spice recipe with you...it will make your home smell like fall, so yummy!! It's also great to use during the holidays or package it up and give it away as a gift! Ok...here you go, I use a palm full of whole cloves, a spoonful of ground nutmeg, a few slices of orange, a couple cinnamon sticks and 2-3 bay leaves!

And really, you could add anything; apple slices, lemon, cardamom pods, anise stars...the possibilities are endless, but I think it's the cloves and citrus that makes it so divine and I usually have those on hand!  Just put it all in a small sauce pan, cover with water and simmer on low. Just make sure to keep an eye on it and refill the water every so often so that it doesn't cook to the bottom of your pan. And voila! Instant fall aroma!

Hope you are all having a fantastic fall!!
