first day of school

i can't believe my baby boy is in first grade this year! he actually started last week, but today is the first day of preschool for my 4 year old. then it will be a lonely, quiet house with just me and my 2 year old, for a few more months at least:)

and i loaded up on these a few weeks back when piperlime was having a big sale... notice anything they have in common?? they are all slip on or velcro! i made the mistake last year of buying cute shoes that 

tie, and that was a nightmare trying to tie everyone's shoes to get out the door. so i wised up:) my favs have to be the rainbows! so cute!

and last but not least, we found this little guy (or gal) last night, crawling around on my front wreath. we caught him for my boy, who LOVES bugs. he thought he was 'awesome, but kinda creepy', and we let him go before we headed off to school.

and we're off to do this for the rest of the weekend- yay labor day weekend! hope you have fun plans too!

nesting

so with number 4 on the way, i am starting to feel like nesting. i want everything cleaned out, and just so. but then i take it a little too far and start redecorating....eek. but it's fun right?! i thought i'd post some before and afters of what we have worked on over the past few years. i still have more i could do, and probably will do, but.... that's for later:)

so...i LOVE old houses, they just have such charm and character. and i think i like the challenge of making something great from something used! here is the front of our home when we moved in, and then after we re-landscaped and such.

and we added a couple of these red plastic adirondack chairs from home depot. they make it so fun!

so wish me luck.... hopefully i don't go overboard;)

i will need some of these for sure! if you are the chewy chocolate cookie, you'll love these!

and i got asked to teach how to make cute flower pins for super saturday, you know the kind you can wear, pin on a pillow or purse etc. so i will be making tutorials and posting those on here soon...yay!

keep calm and carry on, right?! that is my motto right now.

fun stuff

today was glitter nails and rainbow toes with my girls:) can't believe summer is over already, feels like it just started. my first grader is already back at school, so my girls and me are killin' time painting our nails...it's a rough life:)

here is how my hydrangea wreath turned out...i don't know if this will be it's permanent home, but it warms up my entry way and adds something nice to my crazy coat and bag situation! it was a great tutorial. i recommend reading through the whole thing before you start. i cheated and only used 7 hydrangea stems, so mine isn't as bushy, but they are only 33% off at michaels now and $4/stem can add up quick. and i got my grapevine wreath from hobby lobby at 50%. it was only like $2!

need crafting today
